Old Town Spring, just north of Houston, has long been a traditional shopping attraction for visitors to Southeast Texas. A unique blend of country elegance and chic savoir-faire with more than a touch of Texas thrown in, the many and generally colorful shoppes and restaurants in historic old homes and the many bars and watering holes where you can listen to music serve as a magnet for the traveling "in-crowd."
But the annual SpringFest, set this year March 18-19, is the premiere event in a tourist town known for its many and ongoing events. The two day celebration showcases Texas wines, Texas artists and great Texas foods. You can stroll through Old Town Spring while sampling Texas wines and foods and enjoying Texas Art. A variety of foods will be available from local restaurants and specialty vendors from all across Texas.
If you're a first timer to this unique community you will find it's easy to waste a day walking the streets and browsing through the shoppes, perhaps taking lunch on the sidewalk of one of the many eateries.
 Attractions range from the Spring Historical Museum, which features historical documents, photos and other memorabilia that tell the story of the town and surrounding area from the 1900's through the 1950's. If history is your passion, the Civil War Museum offers war era memorabilia for review.
There are so many unique shops, including the Doll Hospital, a business that offers doll repair & costuming, and features antique, modern, play and collectible dolls. You'll find plenty of candle shops, new age, garden and gift shops, clothing and apparel, novelty shops, environmentally-friendly specialties, art galleries, a number of antique shops, and specialty stores that showcase products and art from around the world. There is also, of course, plenty of Texana.
Restaurant and eateries range from coffee shops, salad and sandwich delis, burger and barbecue joints and a Texas-style restaurant located in the old rail depot. Oh, and don't forget the funnel cakery!

About 40 shops around Old Town are also open on Mondays
