Splash Down in Texas!

Just about everyone enjoys getting wet during the peak summer season, from boating on the bay or lake to spending a day by the pool, getting close to water is a Texas summer tradition.
And a new generation tradition in Texas is a visit to one or both of the first class waterparks located across the state. Schlitterbahn Waterparks are located in both central and far south Texas, and each offers a different twist to the same water recreation theme.

The original Schlitterbahn Waterpark is located in New Braunfels deep in the Texas Hill Country. Located on the pristine Comal River, the park carries on a long-standing tradition in the Hill Country of floating down the river or shooting the rapids in an inner tube. Except this waterpark provides the latest high-tech water rides that provide more than just a casual swim in the water. From twisting and turning joy rides of fun to large pools for passive water recreation, there's something for all ages at the park.

In fact, both Schlitterbahn parks (New Braunfels and South Padre Island) are family-oriented facilities offering more than thrill rides and amusement park activities.
Each waterpark offers first-class dining in restaurants that are a cut above the norm. At Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark (on the island), the Shrimp Haus restaurant  offers the best selection of Texas shrimp on the coast, with 101 different recipes of shrimp and 51 sauces for your enjoyment.
Rides at both parks range from passive floats that anyone can enjoy (yes, even Granddad and Grandmother), to more exciting, thrill-filled rides like the Boogie Board attractions where young and old can practice surfing on manmade waves of action.
And both parks offer lodging facilities to make the family stay even more convenient and enjoyable. In New Braunfels, a park lodge offers easy access and comfortable lodging next door to the waterpark, while beach condos on South Padre Island are available as part of a special family-getaway package that is sure to put a smile on the face of every family member.
Visit the Schlitterbahn Waterpark web sites (New Braunfels and South Padre Island) and discover a world of water fun in Texas. And enjoy the ride!
