Texas Renaissance Festival
Are you ready to step back to the time of chivalry; experience the days of fair Camelot while feasting on sumptuous delicacies from an age gone by; to watch the gallantry and pageantry of jousting, or fair-stepping through the Queen's Ball?
The Texas Renaissance Festival is one of the nation's largest, most acclaimed renaissance theme parks where the sights, sounds, tastes and beauty of the 16th Century come alive every Saturday and Sunday for 7 weekends October 2nd through November 14th this year, from 9 AM to dusk.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the festival. The theme this year is the The Quest. Join the King and Queen and their court for this years festivities concluding with the Royal Fireworks at the close of each day.
And the proper attire for the occasion? Well, any old thing will do. But fairgoers traditionally dress to the theme, so that strolling the Faire Grounds provides a total immersion into a long century past.
Unique performances abound at the festival but none quite as rare and unique as The Carillon. A musical instrument that almost met extinction but happily has found a permanent stage at the festival.
Regardless which weekend you choose to visit, a day at the Texas Renaisance Fair is a day well spent with the living history of merry Old England. Enjoy!
