There are a lot of things to celebrate in Texas, from the bounty of Nature to the manmade wonders of towering skyscrapers and sleek city skylines. But perhaps one of the most beloved native products is the ice cream that made Brenham famous!

Welcome to the Ice Cream Festival, a sweet, chilly celebration guaranteed to cool you down on a warm spring afternoon and put you in the mood for fun and frolic.

This annual festival takes place each year in (where elese?) Brenham, home of Blue Bell Ice Cream, a favorite among Texans for generations. And you're invited to participate in one of the most unique festivals in the Lone Star State!

Be there for all the family fun on Saturday May 5, including the annual “Ice Cream Eating” contest, plus the ever popular “Little Mr. & Miss Scoop” pageant. A wide variety of arts & crafts vendors will line the streets of downtown Brenham. The day will be filled with children’s activities, and strolling entertainment all around courthouse square. Don’t forget the great festival food and of course, plenty of ice cream.

The fun doesn’t end there! Swing into the evening with a street dance beginning at 7:00pm with the swingin’ jazz sounds of the “Jive Sisters.” Bring your bobby sox and your best girl and dance the night away in the streets of downtown Brenham!”
The downtown Brenham merchants will have special sales and discounts, plus ice cream-related activities and displays.

There’s free admission and free parking all day and all evening.
So, get away from it all and come to Brenham for a fun-filled, family weekend. For bed & breakfast or motel lodging information, call 1-888-BRENHAM.
